Why We Do What We Do Memories of the 2022 Conference

Uncategorized Oct 17, 2024

While doing my morning meditation, I was deciding what to post to promote the conference. Hopefully, you have all seen the Be Healthy Utah Natural Health and Wellness Conference. It can be exhausting putting on a conference this big. There is so much to do and hours upon hours. The anxiety can be so overwhelming that it can sometimes be crippling. In the last two conferences, the live one and the virtual one, we walked away with only making changes in our pockets (thank goodness we didn't lose much).

I was talking to a lady the other day. I asked her to help me with the marketing for the conference. We were going over the numbers and the plan I wanted to implement. She commented, "So why are you doing this? Is this just a hobby? You are not making any money! So why do you feel you need to keep doing this?" I dropped my head, took a deep breath, and said, "Because Heavenly Father asked me to." Sometimes, I wish to walk away, but the spirit pushes me forward daily, and it will not stop!

I have been creating short videos to promote them in Stories on Facebook and Instagram. I pulled video clips from our last two conferences and got ones that would capture what the conference is all about. One of the short story videos I created was on my sister, Becky Adams. As I reviewed her clip, I thought about her story. Everything she went through, and how her life was changed, her family dynamics had to change, how our whole family had to step in, the emotions we all felt, how her journey changed people's lives, how her journey could have had a different outcome, how she is so unique, and how she influences so many people for good. And then the spirit spoke and said, "This is what the conference is all about... Give hope to those who feel lost, give knowledge to those seeking, and create a community to grow, seek, and learn together."

My sister Becky is a walking example of learning a new way to live by looking first at what our bodies need to thrive. Yes, she had terrific doctors along the way, but if she hadn't educated herself on what her body needs, who knows if she could have just held her first bitty baby granddaughter the other day?

So why do I keep going forward even when it is so unbearable? Because there are other Becky's out there seeking answers like her. We need to know that there are options, we need to know where to get help, and we need to find others who are cheering us along our path. I don't want another person crying on the floor in her closet being told there is nothing they can do because there is! You may not find all of your answers at the conference, but you will have a place to start.

Our bodies are God's creations, and he inspires us to learn how to care for them.

I love you, Becky, and we are all so blessed to have you here with us!
